There's definitely an old world quality that gives Caputo's charm. Vast aisles of various goodies are presented next to your usual grocery store fare. This place shines in the cured meats department (I assume, looks real good, but I do not partake). We got lots of great cheeses and jams for a party later. Approachable but still some gems; worth a trip.
04/03/24 - Believe it or not this is the first time I ever went into a Caputos Fresh Market. I was by my brother in laws house and saw a flyer for a few items I needed @ Caputos that were on sale. I have driven by this store on multiple occasions but never stopped in. This is a nice clean well stocked store w/almost anything you need (& some things you don't need lol ) Anyway they had jumbo eggs for $1.99/dozen, Coho salmon for $5.99/lb both great prices. Of course while walking around there were a couple of other items that we picked up. They didn't have the salmon but I saw a a Greek fish (I think it was a sea bream). Anyway I'm always open to trying different items especially seafood. A gentleman waiting told me this particular fish was normally $9.99/lb on sale for $6.99/lb so I bought 2 fish for dinner tonight. I cleaned them scored the fish, seasoned them w/salt, pepper & olive oil and broiled them. After broiling one side I put pats of butter in the score marks & broiled the other side. The end result was a delicious broiled fish w/browned crispy skin & a nicely seasoned white fish. I enjoyed shopping @ Caputo's Fresh Market & wish it was a little closer to where I live, but if I'm the neighbohood again I will check it out
Fantastic selection of Italian foods! Fresh ricotta, delicious Italian pastries, a whole aisle of pasta...great produce. Everything you need for making fantastic meals. Great prices too!
Just want to thank Letty at the bakery for always going above and beyond when you want to order something. I ordered a cake for my nephew's engagement and I wanted it to look really nice so she made a call to the main bakery and talked to the young lady who also talked to me . Long story short cake was delicious and beautiful !! Thank you both for caring about your customers like you do!!
Best Italian shopping in the Midwest! Only wish they put one in Wisconsin! Produce is second to none and love the items you can't find in other places like the Sicilian eggplant!
One of the best italian grocery stores in town. With so many fresh produce you can buy that other stores dont have. Thats why i come here to shop fresh produce. The deli has most of the meat brands. With different varieties of prociuttos and hams. Staffs are very nice and friendly. Love this store.
Still the best grocery store produce department in the area. It's been years, but when my dad heard Grand Avenue and Harlem he excitedly shouted "ohhhh Caputos!!! " An hour later we stuffed the trunk of the Prius to capacity with everything whole fresh and healthful. Lorena, thank you for being sweet and patient.
